A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of junk emails, but this problem can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be incredibly easy in case you’ve got a cloud hosting service with our company. You can activate this feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is an integral part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will administer your web hosting account. You’ll find all the email addresses that you have created listed alphabetically and to the right of each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly let you know whether a particular mailbox gets all the email messages pertaining to a given domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option at any time. If there’s enabled email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you will get a warning notification from our system. The latter won’t disable/replace anything automatically and without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all option can be enabled without difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up with the domain names hosted in your account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will notice a small-size symbol conveniently located right next to each of them. With only one click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature through the contextual menu that will come into sight. If any of the requirements for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will let you know, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
